The Beatles Music on American Idol Seemed Uninspired |

How many of you out there in electron land caught the American Idol show devoted to the Beatles music just a few weeks ago? I did, and was just shocked at the interpretations that some of these young aspiring singers gave to the Beatles music. It was as if they had not heard many Beatles tunes before they were handed their assignments to sing a Beatles tune. I was watching The View, and they expressed the same opinions that I had, about how these young singers did not seem familiar with the music that inspired the Baby Boomer generation to change the world. We, as Baby Boomers, thought it was unfathomable that the Beatles music would ever fade from the face of the popular music scene, but perhaps time is ticking away at the length of time that the Beatles will be recognized as being one of the most important groups, musically, in influencing a musical genre that still exists today, rock and roll. I hope that the enjoyment and study of popular music does not push the Beatles music into being a footnote in a music history book down the road. BeatleLinks - The Beatles Internet Resource Guide
