Despite coming from the city of Liverpool, on a recent TV appearance in the U.K., ex-Beatle Ringo Starr had nothing good to say about his old stomping grounds and it apparently really ticked off the locals. According to Gordon Smart's "Bizarre" column in the British Sun newspaper, "As Ringo helped launch Liverpool’s Capital Of Culture year, you would have thought the drummer could have found something positive to say about the city. But Surrey-based Ringo, who also has a flat in Chelsea, admitted he rarely returns to his home city and doesn’t miss a thing about it. Then, when asked if he would move back there, he pulled a comedy face." Adding to the furor over Ringo Starr 's lack of loyalty to the old home town was his inability to perform his new single "Liverpool 8" on the British TV show GMTV last week. Although most rock fans continue to revere the Beatles for every priceless Beatle lyric they wrote, and Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney are still highly respected, even a rock legend can fall on his face it appears.
