July 6, 1957- Paul McCartney sees The Quarry Men play at St. Peter's Church garden fete in Liverpool and meets John for the first time.
July 20, 1957- Paul gets invited to join The Quarry Men band.
August 7,1957- The Quarry Men perform at the Cavern Club for the first time.
Feb.6, 1958- The Quarry Men invites George Harrison to join the group because of his reputation as a guitarist.
March 25, 1959- Ringo Starr joins Rory Storm and the Hurricanes, Merseyside's top band at that time.
August 29, 1959- The Quarry Men (John, Paul, George and Ken Brown) opens at the Casbah Club without a drummer.
October 10, 1959- Ken Brown quits the Quarry Men.
November 15, 1959- John, Paul and George make the finals for the Carroll Levis TV Star Search at Liverpool's Empire Theatre as Johnny and the Moondogs.
January 1960- Bass player Stuart Sutcliffe, a friend of John's, joins the Quarry Men.
May 1960- The Quarry Men become the Beatals.
May 10, 1960- The Beatals change name to The Silver Beetles and are booked to tour Scotland with singer Johnny Gentle.
May 20-28, 1960- The group The Silver Beetles change their names to: 'Long John Lennon', Paul Ramon (McCartney), Carl (George) Harrison and Stu de Stael (Stuart Sutcliffe), Tommy Moore (his real name) plays the drums, while touring Scotland.
June 1960- The Silver Beetles change their name to The Beatles before changing it back to The Silver Beetles.
July 1960- The Silver Beetles change to The Silver Beatles.
August 12, 1960- The Silver Beatles attain Pete Best as their drummer.
August 16, 1960- The group finalizes the The Beatles name and goes to Hamburg.
October 15, 1960- John, Paul, George, Ringo and bassist Walter Eymond of Rory Storm and the Hurricanes record together for the first time at Akustic Studio, Hamburg.
November 10, 1960- John Lennon leaves Hamburg.
November 21, 1960- George Harrison, being under-aged, gets deported from West Germany for nightclub work after midnight.
November 30, 1960- Paul McCartney and Pete Best are thrown and released from jail for setting fire to their living quarters at the Bambi cinema but were deported. Stu stays in Germany.
December 27, 1960- The first Beatlemania hysteria arises when The Beatles perform at the Litherland Town Hall in Liverpool.
February 9, 1961- During a lunchtime session, The Beatles perform at the Cavern Club for the first time.
March 21, 1961- During an evening session, The Beatles, for the first time, perform at the Cavern Club.
March 27-Jul 2, 1961- The Beatles play at the Top Ten Club on the Reeperbohn on their second trip to Hamburg.
June 22-23, 1961- Backing singer Tony Sheridan, The Beatles, for the first time, play in a professional recording studio and also performing a couple of songs for producer Bert Kaempfert.
November 9, 1961- Brian Epstein vists The Beatles while their performance at the Cavern Club during lunchtime.
December 3, 1961- At Brian Epstein's record store, The Beatles attend their first business meeting with him.
December 6, 1961- On The Beatles behalf, John accepts Brian Epstein as their manager.
December 13, 1961- Mike Smith of Decca Records come to see The Beatles play at the Cavern Club.
January 1, 1962- Mike Smith and Dick Rowe of Decca Records, audition The Beatles recording 15 songs.
January 24, 1962- Even though Brian Epstein does not sign, The Beatles sign a management contract.
February 1962- The Beatles are turn downed by Decca Records.
February 13, 1962- Brian Epstein plays the failed Decca audition of The Beatles to George Martin, EMI Records head of A&R.
March 7, 1962- Recording at Manchester's Playhouse Theatre, The Beatles make their radio debut.
April 10, 1962- At age 21, Stuart Sutcliffe dies of a brain hemmorage.
April 13-May 31, 1962- On their third trip to Hamburg, The Beatles perform at the new Star-Club on Grosse Freiheit.
May 9, 1962- Depending on a audition/recording session, The Beatles are offered a recording contract.
June 6, 1962- Performing the audition/recording session at EMI studios in Abbey Road, The Beatles are offered a record deal.
August 15, 1962- The Beatles invites Ringo to join the group and he accepts.
August 16, 1962- The Beatles fires their drummer Pete Best.
August 18, 1962- At Hulme Hall in Port Sunlight, Birkenhead, Ringo Starr debuts as a Beatle.
August 23, 1962- John Lennon marries Cynthia Powell in Liverpool.
September 4, 1962- The Beatles return to Abbey Road studios for their first recording session with Ringo.
October 1, 1962- The Beatles management contract is finally signed by Brian Epstein.
