Beatles HairstyleThe Beatles are still just as popular as ever. Their style and music has filtered down through the generations and people still pay handsomely for Beatles memorabilia. Over forty years after The Beatles released their first single, current Internet blog sites like beatlesmusic247.com are full of news and information about this eternally fashionable band.

Adolescents today behave as though they invented the genre of rock and roll. Calling themselves Emo, kids today listen to the Indie music from the 1990s and think themselves modern. You have probably noticed the hairstyles these kids have. Do they look at all familiar to you? In my opinion, current Emo hairstyles look just like the Indie haircuts people like Sean Ryder and the Gallagher brothers from Oasis had ten or fifteen years ago.

The British band Oasis were massive back in the 1990s. High school kids and college students idolized them. Meanwhile, the parents of kids like me laughed heartily because they knew that Oasis were really rather unoriginal. It was obvious to older generations that Oasis were heavily inspired by the music of The Beatles. Both brothers in Oasis had a Beatles hairstyle.   The Emo kids who think themselves so contemporary don't realize they're actually walking around with a Beatles hairstyle that was trendy over forty years ago when the band first exploded onto the music scene. How Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr must snigger to themselves when they see these teenagers swagger down the street with a Beatles hairstyle, posing in a way that shows they think they are the fist person who has ever worn their hair like that.

Speaking of the Beatles hairstyle, I recently read some interesting news about John Lennon's hair in a British newspaper called The Telegraph. Betty Glasgow, the band's former hairdresser, sold a lock of John Lennon's hair at Gorringes auction house in West Sussex. It was part of her collection of Beatles memorabilia and somebody paid close to $50,000 for the privilege of owning it, which shows that the Beatles are still well loved today. I'm not sure that there will ever be another band as iconic as the Beatles. In truth, when I compare the music of today to that of The Beatles I realize that we simply don't make great music like that anymore. The Beatles hairstyle, music and way of life will likely be revamped by the next generation of teenagers too.
